Galactic Climb
Milky Way climbing up a rocky cliff, reaching the tree at the top. I was able to realize my vision for this image by shooting the rocky cliff with a slightly longer focal length and then capturing the Milky Way with my Sigma 14-24mm lens on my Nikon D850 astro modified body.

Purple Mountain Dunes
Great Sand Dune National Park near Alamosa, Colorado. This is a very large multi image panorama.

Wolf Of Pine Park Ranch
January Wolf Moon just before sunrise at the break of dawn. The sun rising behind me hadn’t made it up over the horizon yet but its light was illuminating the scene with precision. This image was shot 45 min before the previous image with the red barn. While the moon looks to be about the same distance from the horizon in both, it’s a simple matter of being up higher in the previous image looking more down.

Wolf Moon setting over Red Barn
The cold January 2025 Wolf Moon setting over this nice red barn in SE Colorado.
Taken about a hour after sunrise. The thin layers of clouds help to diffuse the moon a little.

Mister Boone
A gorgeous Boone & Crockett buck in real life. Captured in the soft early morning light as he was taking a break while his friends kept eating. He just sat there and wasn’t bothered by me at all..I kept my distance and used a long lens to photograph him.

Ring Billed Gull
I saw this gull standing on this very thin piece of ice and I was able to get down low and capture his reflection too. I was surprised that he never move even though I was pretty far away from him. It took me a little while to get the right angle to capture all the details.

Icy Sunrise
First sunrise of the year. It was a cold one to start the year but the clear air really made for some nice light in the canyon and in the clouds. Image was shot with a Nikon Z8, Sigma 14-24mm 2.8 Art Series lens. ISO 64, F/10, 1/15th second on my Robus Supports Tripod and ballhead.
